Oil & Gas
The Oil&Gas industry is one of the most consolidated markets for Coremo, the focus of continual development and fine-tuning work by the company's Technical Department and its engineers, who aim to offer a complete range of hydraulic brakes suitable for even the toughest applications.
Extraction plants often work in hostile, dangerous environments, in extreme weather conditions, which may vary from -40°C to +60°C, inaccessible geographical locations, situations in which ferrous materials tend to oxidise easily, not to mention the presence of gases and hydrocarbons which increase the site’s danger level and the explosion hazard.
Given this demanding industrial environment, special care must be taken when choosing a brake, and Coremo rises to the occasion with expertise built up in more than 50 years’ experience, with the aim of perfecting tailored technical solutions and high safety and reliability standards. These prerequisites are met thanks to the use of epoxy coatings and special anti-corrosion treatments, the use of high-strength carbon steels even at low temperatures, and friction materials compatible with the current regulations on potentially explosive environments.
Its control of the entire design and construction process enables Coremo to make changes to brakes’ standard characteristics, or to develop customised solutions, in close cooperation with its clients.
The brakes used in this industry are hydraulic with high braking forces and a clamping force from 8,000 to 300,000 N. Oil-applied and spring-applied, they are used both on-shore and off-shore on hoists and winches, in lifting cranes and on drilling rigs, as well as on vessels.
Coremo’s offering is completed by a range of high quality hydraulic power units to operate and control the brake and, to allow the provision of a full service, constant consulting to guide customers’ choices and respond effectively to any needs which emerge during the design phases.
